Apple CEO Tim Cook will be among the speakers this Saturday at the second LoveLoud Festival in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The music festival is staged by the LoveLoud Foundation, which was started in 2017 by Dan Reynolds, lead singer of pop band Imagine Dragons. The fest began as a way to promote acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community.
The goal of LoveLoud is to raise $ 1 million to benefit local and national LGBTQ+ charities.
Cook’s speech will conclude with an introduction of Reynolds’ group, the festival’s headline act.
“Tim Cook joining us in Utah for LoveLoud sends a clear message to LGBTQ youth that they have unlimited potential to achieve their dreams,” Reynolds said in a statement published by MacRumors. “Tim is an unwavering advocate for human rights and equality, and we’re thrilled he’ll be joining our powerful line-up of speakers and performers.”
Cook will join actor Alfonso Ribeiro, dancer Julianne Hough, Tegan Quin and others. In addition to Imagine Dragons, the list of performers include Zedd, Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, Grace Vanderwaal and comedian Cameron Esposito, the host of the show.
Cook is openly gay and Apple is a vocal supporter of LGBTQ+ rights.
Tickets are available for online order here and range in price from $ 29.50 to $ 99.50. AT&T will stream the concert live on Twitter, according to MacRumors. The LoveLoud festival will take place at Rice Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.
