Forecast predicts increase in U.S. aftermarket parts sales
$ 41 billion is the projected increase in U.S. aftermarket parts sales by 2021 over 2017 levels, according to a forecast conducted for two large aftermarket trade groups, the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association and the 3,000-member Auto Care Association.
The forecast predicts that aftermarket parts sales will hit $ 327 billion in 2021 in the United States, compared with $ 286 billion last year. Bill Long, Aftermarket Suppliers Association president, said the growth is partly due to rising consumer confidence, and partly a result of “new and emerging technologies, changes in the distribution model and changes in consumers’ expectations for mobility.”
