Mid 2015 15” MBP? Obsolete.

Still better than the 2017 models.

Still better than the 2017 models.

Nope.

* USB A Ports
* HDMI
* SD Card reader
* MagSafe
* Keyboard that doesn’t sound like I am angry typing all the time
* Physical escape key
* Physical buttons for volume and brightness
* The Apple logo lights up

My 2015 15” quad i7 is still kicking ass daily. Everything I throw at it, it handles smoothly. I have no need for a touch bar or USB C and dongles. The battery still holds a fantastic charge. The keyboard keystroke is rock solid and deliberate. Not sure what else I really NEED. It has been the very best MacBook Pro I have ever owned.

I do t know about all of this. But Batman would own the Space Gray 2017 MacBook Pro.

End of argument.

No Space Grey option. 😉

Or, since the computer is 3 years old anyways, why not avoid the instant deprecation and just buy it used? I see several listings on ebay currently hovering around $ 300-1000 as the current bid, or here’s one that’s Buy It Now for $ 1150.

Or if used isn’t for you, there’s also refurbished. Seems to be $ 1300 with a three year warranty.

Nope.

No ability to hook up an eGPU. Ergo not worth buying.

I find it interesting that Best Buy is having all these sales – almost as if they are trying to significantly reduce their Apple inventor – or they know how soon new models are coming out and they need to get rid of older stuff.
Although Best Buy doesn’t get ‘criticized” for this – you may note that they add .99 cents (sometimes .98) to Apple list prices – not enough for someone to complain about but must add up to huge additional profits over a year.
Damn, I’d jump on it if had 1 TB hdd for a little bit higher price. 256 is just way too small.

I agree with you, spaceywilly. The mid 2015 Pro is outdated.

It may be outdated (it actually isn’t) but at least at one point it was awesome. Something the current models of MBP will never be accused of being with their awful battery life, horrendous keyboard issues, lack of ports etc etc When the answer to a machine’s problem is constantly “I just bought X to address that!” you’ve got a bad computer.
