When you are going out on the water, weather is a huge factor to consider. It doesn’t matter if you’re fishing in a bass boat or taking a yacht on a cruise along the Great Lakes shoreline. It’s important to know what’s going on with the weather. Fishing Weather brings all of the NOAA marine forecast information right to your iPhone.
Fishing and boating go hand-in-hand, but you can definitely have one without the other. What you can’t have, though, is a boating excursion without knowledge of the current and forecasted marine weather conditions.
With Fishing Weather – NOAA Wave, Tide & Wind Forecast, you get the information you need when you need it. You can zoom in on a map of the United States and get current conditions along with a five-day marine forecast for the spot you tapped on. In some locations, you can even get a seven-day tide forecast, with interactive graphs and hourly tidal information.
The fastest way to access NOAA marine forecast information
This terrific app covers most coastal areas of the United States and Puerto Rico. It encompasses the East and West Coasts, along with the Great Lakes, the Gulf of Mexico, and Florida. You can also view marine forecast information for Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico. When you’re in the app, any area within a green highlight is included in the coverage.
The developers say there’s no need for saving favorites, because of how simple and fast the app is to use. It does save your most recently-viewed forecast for future viewing. However, it would be nice to have a way to save favorites. Many people go to different locations when they go boating, and having to locate that spot on the map would be time better spent getting ready for your excursion.
There aren’t many apps that provide marine weather forecasts in such an easy-to-understand way. Everything is boiled down to simple facts, which makes it easy to keep up with whether you should take your boat out or stay on dry land.
